big sky, 2021

I’m well aware that Louisiana is not considered “big sky country”, but coming from East Tennessee & living practically my entire life surrounded by mountains I could not have imagined the effect the open landscape here has had on me. Without even realizing, my studio work, photos I take, this mural, and even a Christmas stocking I made have an underlying theme. All sky blue, this is one of my favorite things about creating. It always seems reflect something in you whether you are doing it intentionally or not, and if the day is right, that top blue will match the sky and it’ll get real big. Big sky.
